ABOUT OUR SLATE CAVES

At BLU Aquatics we pride ourselves on the quality and uniqueness of our handmade slate caves. Each cave is crafted by hand using the highest quality slate which we have selected direct from source. Natural slate is fully inert and will not effect water parameters, the structure is held securely together with aquarium grade adhesive to ensure it is completely safe for your tank. Because slate is a natural material it will still look as beautiful in years to come as it did on day one, it cannot fade or loose its colour as many painted plastic ornaments can.

USES FOR YOUR CAVE

As well as a beautiful decoration for your aquarium our caves will provide shelter for plecos and other shy fish which require a hiding spot away from light. Our caves have proved extremely popular with pleco breeders as the perfect location for their fish to spawn. Even non cave dwellers such as Angelfish will appreciate the smooth external walls to deposit their eggs upon.

Not limited to aquariums, our caves can also be used for reptiles, amphibians such as Axolotls and some designs will make a perfect den suitable for small rodents.
